I read in the Dallas Voice that they're thinking about making the Color Purple Broadway Musical into a movie and that they're waiting for Fantasia to
finish recording her new album because they want her in the role of Celie. I found this:

I'm blown away. I have no idea what she sang and the look was unusual, but she was like a force of nature. Perhaps I'll have a better idea when I look
at it again.

I loved it. As usual Fantasia took charge of the stage and owned every inch of it. Was it her best vocal - no .... but it was the best performance that
stage has seen since the lst time Kelly was on it for last years finale. I will always respect and follow Fantasia because 1) I think she is insanely talented
and 2) She knows who she is as an artist and remains true to that while continuing to push her boundaries. I only know one other artsist who does the same
thing and she happens to be my fav singer of all time (3 guesses).

Fortunately Simon's not "getting" it doesn't surprise me, also doesn't change my love of the performance. As a Fantasia fan
I'm used to general derision as far as she is concerned.

Ahh Director, I haven't seen that name in a looooong time. I miss him too!
I actually was mesmerized by Fantasia's performance too....I kind of looked like Simon, but I didn't hate it. Not my type of music, but I was definitely entertained. She did her thing, so kudos! |

I liked it until the end and then I was like WTF! When Fantasia performs she certainly isn't afraid to lay it all out there for the world to see, thats
what I love about her. Proved whats missing from a lot of contestants lately, they show no personality on stage.

Simon's expression was shown on the previews for Hot Topics on The View today. Elizabeth and Sherri loved Fantasia's performance last night, but
Joy and Whoppi hadn't seen it supposedly. They showed a really great part of her performance and also showed Simon's expression. Eliz. and Sherri
gave good comments about it, while Joy and Whoppi looked like they were stunned and were saying "wow...and that's all I can say about that" or
words to the effect. It might show up on youtube later.

I actually like Tasia but I really didn't know what to make of that performance. I couldn't understand a thing that was coming out of her mouth so I
had no idea what the song was even about.
