How many here are always saying that Top 40 is crap? There's so much more out there than top 40 stuff and doing that "other" stuff would allow her to, as they hinted at, mature as she is and not pander to the "it" sound. I honestly took what they said as a compliment and basically saying she's much better than the typical top 40 stuff and she has a great tool (her voice) to move on from that market.

And...I totally agree. Considering at any given time there's only about 2-3 songs in the Top 20 that I would listen to more than a few times...I've never had a problem with Kelly not being there. But that's just me. Today's "pop" scene is just not my cup of tea. I remember the days when "rock" bands actually made the charts. Ahhhh...those were the days.....

Besides, everyone who listens to Top 40 had at one point blasted any Kelly Clarkson music. I don't see My December being 'gothic' anyways if one of the songs made Top 10 on Billboard. I just can't wait for the album & promo that comes along with it, I can live WITHOUT all the articles[god knows there's a slew of comparisons coming for My December].
