Oh! See that's the thing. I did download her audio but it doesn't seem to work. I see the mp3 files but I keep getting a message
that there aren't any files to extract...

To any Expressers going to the Chicago shows: The only time I'm finding listed for the show is 7 p.m. Do any of you know whether that's what time the
doors open, what time Tony Lucca goes on, etc.? I'm just trying to figure out what time to arrive. Thoughts?

I'm guessing the 7pm time is the time the concert starts. Doors probably open about a half hour/hour before the show begins. Will you be at Schuba's
tomorrow night? I'm going with naturalwoman and raes28 from here!

woohoo02 wrote: Thanks, woohoo! That's kinda what I figured. Yes, I'll be at the Monday night show at Schuba's My girlfriend and I are both working during the day, so we're going to be rushing around trying to get our clothes changed, get something to eat before the show (there is a Flat Top Grill across the street that I LOVE), etc. I've hung out at Schuba's before for drinks, but I've actually never seen a show there, so I was just curious about how early it's necessary to arrive. I'm so excited about this show! I've had plans to see Sara like 3 times in the past and something has always come up and prevented me from actually going! But I'll be there tonight, come hell or high water -- or more snow! |

Haha Amber!! That's hilarious -- yes, we're driving down from Milwaukee, so barring any extra snow, we'll be getting to Schuba's around 4:30 to
meet for dinner with some other friends that are going to the show. The last time I saw her was last April here in Milwaukee. I can't wait!!! BTW, I'm
Lisa.

amberb01 wrote:Schuba's is probably my favorite place to see a low- key show. it's pretty intimate. standing room only with a max. capacity of I would say about 200. If you want to get close to the stage, it depends how popular both acts are. I saw Tony as a headliner there and when we got there the opener was probably 2 songs into their set. Hardly anyone inside so we got right up next to the stage. When I saw Jason Mraz, there was a line down the block several hours before the doors opened. |

The first night in Chicago was awesome. I had a lot of fun with Lisa, Jenny Rae, and Mike, and Sara was really great as usual. The setlist:
1. Undertow 2. Fairytale 3. Free Ride 4. One Sweet Love 5. Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For 6. Come Round Soon 7. Vegas 8. Bottle It Up (when she started playing this it sounded a little like Love Song and people cheered, so she went "It's not what you think it is. I tricked you." haha) 9. Gonna Get Over you 10, Many the Miles 11. Love Song 12. Umbrella (Rihanna) 13. I'm On Fire w/Tony Lucca 14. Gravity I was really impressed with Tony, who I didn't know much about. A funny thing was during Come Round Soon when Josh Day (drummer) was using sticks that were made up of a bunch of little sticks. A tiny piece flew off and hit Sara in the head during the song. She didn't notice, but we pointed it out to her on the ground after the song. She joked about how, if he was going to hit her in the head with a drumstick, it should be more than that little piece of sh*t. Then she put it on top of her piano to "remember the dead. that was morbid." It was cool that she sang Umbrella. We heard her practicing it during soundcheck, and she had the lyrics printed out on the floor in front of her (same with the U2 song). I talked to Javier for a minute afterwards, and he was nice enough to get like 5 things signed (and personalized) for different people by Sara on the bus. I didn't ask because I felt bad having him do that. But I got the setlist and he signed it. It was cute watching him repeat back the names he was going to have signed though, because there were a lot. I didn't get to meet Sara this time, but I did see her and Javier walking up the street before the show. I didn't stop them though. I think they stayed to drink at the bar after the show, but I decided to drive home instead. It was a great night and I'll post some pics later. |

Abby thanks for the review. I really wish she would cover someone else besides Rihanna though. I can't get past the utterly poor choice of character it
represents. It's my own issue.
Are you going back for tonight's show as well? How close were you guys? |

that's awesome, abby. that's a great setlist...i love that she tricked people into thinking she was gonna play Love Song. she's great. funny that
she got hit by a piece of the drumstick. i'm guessing that Josh was using Hot Rods...i've had pieces fly all over the place whenever i banged on my
drums. i love those sticks.
i so wanna talk to Javier at my show...i have the biggest crush on him. haha. ooh man...i'm seeing her next week and i'm so freakin' excited! |

I'm not going back for tonight's show, as I have to work tomorrow and wasn't sure if I could come home at 3 am and make it to work at 8. haha. We
were front row. It was actually a little too close, we were like 5 inches from Sara when she was playing guitar.

That "making a joke" picture is hysterical.

Thanks for the link bklynchik! I'm going to check it out. ETA: Now i believe there's something wrong with my computer because
i'm getting the same message with the files I downloaded from that link
BTW, I think I'm with you on the Rhianna cover :S Even though it's good... it's just my beef with Rhianna. that's awesome, abby. that's a great setlist...i love that she tricked people into thinking she was gonna play Love Song. she'sShe did that at our show too! lol Did she also, before doing I think Come Round, start playing and singing "At first I was afraid, I was petrified. Kept thinking... NAH! I'm just kidding! We're not going to do that! " lol That was frickin funny too. And we so bought it because she prefaced it by saying that that rarely get to do that song on tour and "Get ready for it, cause, it's going to be ridiculous...."

Awesome, Crys! BTW, one of the funniest things she said at the first Chicago shows was how she stole the idea to play the ukelele from Ingrid Michaelson, who
is a "sassy b*tch from Staten Island, and I f*cking love her." She's so funny.
