Watched both episodes last night. I think Jeremy was the right choice to go home last night. Like Randy (or was it Jimmy?) said, Stevie's songs were made for his voice and he didn't do anything special with his song.

I'm also on the Skylar bandwagon - she's my favorite so far. I also like Phil, but he's very predictable for me. I just have to think: which song would Dave Matthews cover? Like I totally predicted he would do Superstition, and it sounded basically like I expected. Now I like that style of music (I probably have more live recordings of Dave Matthews Band than Kelly, or it's at least really close), but it's too predictable for me. I also predicted Jessica would sing "The Big One". She did the best job with that song that I've heard on the show, but it was still missing something for me.

I also find that I've become very hard to please with these shows recently. Because I've heard so many great performances on American Idol (and the other shows), these contestants really need to do a great job in order to impress me. The only people that I thought did an above average job this week were Skylar, Hollie, Jessica, and maybe Phil.

Welcome aboard!

I too am beginning to burn out on these singing competitions. I feel like we've seen it all over the last 10 years; somebody has to really knock it out of the park or do something unexpected to move me. That's why I'm not liking Jessica as much one might think I would. I guess she's too much like Melanie Amaro (X Factor winner) to me.

Kelly really set the bar super-high, and very few have even come close.

Jeremy was a good kid, but America and the judges got it right in sending him home.
