Yeah, I was mad Erika was sent home. She definitely deserved to stick around more than Heejun or DeAndre, but we all know what American Idol has turned into. Heejun definitely looked guilty after Erika was sent home. Jimmy and the judges really gave him a lot to think about. I hated that he said he wasn't there to be a superstar - why did you try out, and why are you letting other, more talented, contestants go home, if you're not trying to be a superstar?????? That irked me. I don't think Erika could've won anyway, so I think it was a good move for the judges to hold on to their save. In my opinion they should really only use the save on someone they think could win the competition (a la Chris Daughtry, Tamyra, etc.).

I think it's about time American Idol lets the judges choose who goes home based on the bottom two. Get rid of the save, let America pick the bottom two, and then let the judges decide between those two contestants. It works on X Factor and So You Think You Can Dance, so why wouldn't it work here? Are they afraid of being called copycats? I don't care if they copy another show's methods as long as the best talent wins out every year. Think of how different some of the seasons would've turned out had they implemented this in the beginning - would Nikki McKibbin and Sanjaya (and now Heejun) have gotten as far as they did? Would Jennifer Hudson have gotten into the finals? I think in the end, those who have come out of this show and have had true talent, have won in the end (Jennifer Hudson has an Oscar for Pete's sake!), but it's just frustrating to know how much good talent is sent home on this show before its time.
