I LOVED Skylar's version of Gunpowder & Lead. I've been waiting for her to sing it ever since she made the top 25, and I thought she nailed it. I was hoping for a high note on 'pull the trigger' too, Christine, but I wasn't expecting it since I don't remember the original having that note in it. I was a little disappointed that she messed up the lyrics on the last chorus, but either no one else seemed to noticed, or they decided not to dwell on it because the performance was so great (which I do appreciate, if the latter is the case). I also loved that her energy just kind of took over the Madonna medley - she couldn't contain herself and it showed that she was having a blast up there.

The other standouts for me were Elise (obviously) and Phillip. I'm not sure that even half of the performances they gave standing O's to really deserved them, but it is what it is. I thought Joshua over-sang Without You, if that's possible. His performance wasn't all that great, imo, and definitely nowhere close to Kelly's version. When he said that's the song he was singing, I said 'Uh oh' out loud...because I knew he wouldn't slay it like Kelly did 10 years ago. And when Randy said something about warning contestants about singing those big singer-type songs, I actually thought (in a good way) 'No one warned Kelly about that'...man she did Natural Woman, Without You, AND a huge Celine song.

DeAndre or Heejun REALLY needs to go home tonight (or both, preferably). While they were both probably better than last week, they're still obviously the weakest contestants left. If anyone else goes home, I'm going to lose my sh!t. Absolutely no one else deserves to go home. I'm a little worried for Hollie though, because she needs to pick up the tempo a little, and I'm afraid people are getting bored with her.
