I haven't had time to watch much of the show this season or to recrap it, and now, I'm glad.  Because I would have blown my radiator after stoopid (that's not a misspelling in this case) Idol voters knocked off the best make R&B singer this show has ever seen, and who a few weeks ago knocked off the seriously talented Skylar Laine.

Instead, the show is left with a very poor man's excuse for Ray LaMontagne/Pete Yorn, and a teenager with a plastic voice.

When will Nigel & Co. go the America's Got Talent route and limit the number of votes per voter?

Obviously, they thought that if the panel of third-rate Stooges told the voting audience enough times that Joshua was great, they'd do their duty, Pavlovian style.  Unfortunately, Idol voters don't have the brains of dogs.

Maybe they should change the name of the show to "White Male American Idol."

Oy.  Please let Duets do a better job.

I wonder if a stream of constant dumping by Simon would have had this kid off the show much earlier, maybe even before they hit Hollywood.  Joshua has everything that Philip does not, and I'm counting only performing ability.
He can hold pitch.  He has crazy range.  He can put on a show.   I'm not a country fan,  but I'd be surprised if Skylar doesn't have a good career.  She also puts Phillip in the dust talent wise.  How does Phillip stand out in a rock world except maybe at a local talent show?   I know some folks here like Phillip,  but I honestly don't see anything special about him.   As for Jessica,  I'm not so sure I agree with you, Houster.   She's still a kid and not a pro,  but she has  voice control beyond her years and great range.  I guess we'll see what happens with her.  At this point, as I said,  I'm not sure she should bother showing up next week,  but who knows.
