OUcultjam, I def don't want you or anyone else to be heartbroken ! I have no prob with people singing along in the manner that you describe, it's only when it interferes with my ability to hear Kelly that I have a prob.

Afterall it's the artist that we're paying to see/hear not the crowd. I think this is especially true with someone like Kelly who is blessed with such an amazing voice - there are only a handful of artists out there where it would really matter to me. The other thing that irritates me even more than the singing along is the shout outs in the middle of a ballad. :bang

I saw Kelly twice this year in two very diff venues. The first time was in a very intimate kind of upscale setting, and there was almost zero singing along (or shout outs) except for BA at the very end of the show. Kelly's voice was showcased big time and I left COMPLETELY STUNNED and in awe of her amazing talent !

The second time was in a college arena (ORL) and the crowd sang along to almost every song and there were numerous shoutouts in the middle of hearfelt ballads. And while I still loved the show and Kelly was amazing, vocally the experience was a little different, not quite the same. I should mention btw that the crowd was insanely loud in both instances, it's just that in the more intimate venue they waited until Kel finished singing to go nuts.

So idk, perhaps the venue has some influence on the crowds behavior...anyway for my money if I had a choice I would choose the first experience every time.

But my party days are in my past, and that may have something to do with my choice LOL :wink
