The lowest note I have ever heard Kelly hit is an Eb3 in the backing vocals on "Addicted" and just to clarify, in the studio version of "Behind These Hazel Eyes" Kelly hits a G5, in the accoustic she sings in a different key and hits an #F5. (unless my ears are telling me lies)

"addicted" (both studio and live) is performed in b-flat minor, and all instances of e-flats in the backups are above middle c (i.e. "it's like i can't ->breath<-"). the f3 she hits is the root fifth during the melody in the verses (i.e. "suckin' the life from me it's ->like<- i can't breathe").

"behind these hazel eyes" (studio) is performed in f# minor. after about two live performances of the track, she wisely raised the key a full step to g# minor in order to avoid the inconsistencies of her lower register. as a result, the corresponding soprano line has made a few occasional appearances when the song was performed with jason's realtime editor protools rig, usually getting singled out as 'the chipmunk track'. however, despite the fact that she still hits a flurry of f#5's, kel has never sung the g#5 when performing "behind these hazel eyes" in the raised key. instead, she opts to belt the root third below it, a b4 (i.e. "you won't get to see the tears i ->cry<-", "no i don't cry on the outside a->nymore<-").

this is all clearly evident in the carson daly performance, the regis performance, and the today show performance (where danny broke a g string), as well as the vast majority of the "breakaway" tour audio, to name a few sources.

for some visual evidence of the key changes, observe the capo on danny's guitar during these performances, as it is quite plainly situated on the fourth fret in order to facilitate the open string ringing of the g#. comparison of these audio sources with the studio version will reveal the key change. fortunately, the vh-1 acoustic performance of the song remains in the original f# minor key (since that venue was conducive to a controlled vocal performance). concordantly, one can easily spot danny's capo on the second fret where it belongs.
