Relating to the guy with the guitar... If the judges think a contestant is good, but they have some concerns about him... Then why not just let this person through and let the natural process take care of it? If the contestant isn't really not good, then I think he/she would be weeded out sooner or later. But at least give him a chance.

I really think their judging is a lot whimsical. I know they look for the "it" factor. But in some reality shows, like ANTM, I think what they usually look for is a drive, and love for the profession, and this guy with the guitar seems to really love music. Having said this, I think he needs some growing up to do, but I don't think it's up for the judges to eliminate him at this stage for that reason. You never know... He might grow up quickly during the competition. But as it was, they took that opportunity away from him.

Instead, they put through a lot of contestant who are obviously just for entertainment value, or may have some average talent, but are not real musicians, etc. Although, in the end, I know it doesn't really matter because the real good ones should've advanced. It just really annoys me how subjective the judging is. But what do I really expect, right? lol.

Also, I didn't like the editing. They kept flashing between the audition room to the family, that you never really heard the judges real reason for not putting him through.
