Why are the same 20 or so people always in these award shows? It is seriously really predictable. Is the country market that small that you already know more than half the performers before it is even mentioned? How can this award show be taken really seriously when it is a given that the same people will win, except they are in rotation from year to year. I just don't get the significance I guess.

Of course Carrie would win a lot of female awards because she has no competition. A lot of the female singers are either average, old (with no hits), or if they are good they are in a group like Jennifer from sugarland. Her real competition is really the males, who wont be up against her in most awards. Taylor Swift is her commercial competition but Taylor is not a vocalist.

Not to take anything away from Carrie... But I think Jennifer if solo, and with something like the Idol machinery/fanbase support, could give Carrie serious run for her money. I think Jennifer has crazy vocals, sings with a lot of emotion, and an awesome performer. I didn't use to watch a lot of country shows, so I wasn't familiar with Jennifer until I saw her on Reba's CMT Giants special. And she won me over that day.

And there are so many country awards that I can't keep up. lol. Each time makes me think about the type of competition Kelly has to go up against to win one award in one category (or two), if she's lucky. But oh well, such is life. image lol.

Also, when Kelly is in award shows, she doesn't really have a genre specific award show nor a specific category. We can say she can be nominated in the "pop" category, but pop is literally every popular artist out there except rap and country. Kelly has to battle legends and superstars like Paul Macartney (a beatle), Bonnie Rait, Beyonce, Mariah, Christina, Katy, Pink, Avril, Leona, Miley, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and all the other pop/r&b/pop-rock acts.
