Actually...Kelly was in studio this past week. She is working right now with a new producer...Howard Benson (Gavin Degraw, Daughtry, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus...etc.)
If we have any French members lurking about the board...keep your eyes opened this week for a sighting.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but I am hearing that the CD has moved to Dec 2nd. This is actually a good thing otherwise she is up against U2 and 50cent.

Kelly Clarkson's upcoming CD - Aggressive, Haunting, Classic
Published August 26th, 2008 in American Idol and Kelly Clarkson.Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic recently spoke with ABC News Radio, and here's what he had to say about Kelly Clarkson's upcoming CD, due to drop in November:
OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder did quite a bit of work on Kelly Clarkson's forthcoming CD, and when asked to describe it, Tedder told ABC News Radio, "The sound is, in a word, amazing." He added, "She was talking about how she thinks it'll be better than any album she's put out so far. The last song we did [together] is my favorite song I've done since 'Apologize' or 'Bleeding Love' or whatever. It's very haunting." Tedder raves, "I've never been more excited about material that I've worked on with any artist, to be quite frank."
Saying the sound of the record is "all over the place," Tedder explains, 'She's gonna have really aggressive, in-your-face rock/pop, but she's also gonna have orchestral, Mozart moments of classical rhythmic stuff. It's great."
No doubt Kelly is going back to the formula that worked for her-made-for-radio hits. But, I hope, in the meantime, she's brought along at least a bit of the adventurousness displayed on My December. Which, by the way, is one of those underrated albums that will be appreciated more as time passes, I predict…

Okay, so... I'm a photography major at FIT in NYC and one of my friends just got an internship with this photographer, Mike Ruiz. He just told me today knowing I'm a huge Kelly fan that he's shooting Kelly's album cover sometime next month. I'm not 100% sure this is true of course but I don't think he'd just make it up. I checked out his portfolio and his photos have a really awesome look.

Several people have questioned this "Breakaway on steriods" comment. Something on steriods is bigger and stronger. I compare it to the whole SUBG situation. When the song was presented to Kelly it was a very "bubblegum" pop song. She added heavy guitars, more drums and it became a pop/rock anthem...or...the original song on steriods. Is that a good enough analogy to explain what it might mean? Imagine bigger and more power.
As far as more information. I feel a bit afraid that by giving a possible date...they might change it. I feel as if I mention a song that might be on the album...they might take it off. I feel that we as a community need to respect the privacy this time around because so many people come here for information, and then they take it and twist it and put it on blogs with questionable reputations...but thousands of readers. We are here because of our love for Kelly...however...by posting too much information we could harm her as well. I'm not going to take that chance.
All that being said...there's nothing that I feel can be harmed with this information...and y'all are desperate for something. All of you who love "Close Your Eyes" from the leaked demos...sorry...it will not be on the new album. Don't expect that type of sound this time around. (And don't think that I'm sitting here with a wealth of information that I'm keeping to myself...I'm not).

What I have learned....
The new single will be coming out between the end of August and beginning of September (we kinda knew that). The new CD is like Breakaway on steriods...you'll wanna dance to at least a few of the tunes. Barry Weiss told Kelly that he could sell anything she brought to him...he supports her completely.

I don't know how much you guys like reading this stuff, but I just found another song that was pitched to Kelly for the album.
And Finally is the song "Chasing Angels" written by Tanya Leah and Stephaine Lewis. It features Caitlin Evanson on vocals. Caitlin is one talented girl, she sings great, is a great violinist and is very creative at background parts. She is another one that is full of passion and energy. You can catch her out with Taylor Swift right now. Check out her myspace. The song is a great song dealing with a rather dark topic, and was a pitch for Kelly Clarkson. We wanted to go a little bit classic sounding with modern elements and think we hit it pretty good. Tanya and Steph are two of our favorite writers, and we always try to fill in cracks in the schedule with demos for them, cuz they always write great songs!!!!From Zodlounge myspace (music production company), "Chasing Angels" LISTEN HERE

Is "Chasing Angels" going to be on Kelly Clarkson's new album?
Not sure, It was a song pitch written by Tanya Leah and Stephanie Lewis. We did the song demo here.....Thru some contacts it got directly into Kelly's management and on Kelly, not sure if she passed or not....Last I heard, she was still looking for a song, but the rest of her album is finished.

A fan of Ryan Tedder had a chance to talk with him very recently and Kelly's album was mentionedI also mentioned that I'm really psyched about the stuff that he's doing with Kelly Clarkson that's coming out later this year. He thinks the material is pretty crazy, and might be even bigger than what Bleeding Love was, which he also co-wrote.

Kelly did a Q&A with her German Fanclub saying that she and Jason have written a song titled "Cry" that may end up being on the album.

According to Trey Vittetoe, a music producer/songwriter who submitted a song for this album which ended up not getting picked, there was a call out from the A&R for material in line with a OneRepublic meets Snow Patrol vibe. Original source, translated post
Ryan Tedder was interviewed on JoJo's (KIISfm) show tonight and JoJo snuck a Kelly question in at the end ...7-7:
Jojo: "Before I forget to ask...in the studio with Kelly Clarkson. What's the news there?
Ryan: "Maaaan, it's..she's gonna have..I mean, I'm a little biased, cause I'm workin' on it, but, I think she's gonna have the best album yet."
Jojo: "Nice!"

I found a podcast from an Australian radio station, that interviews Ryan Tedder on 3/27/08. I don't know how to cap it, so, for about 6:45 you have to listen to them talk about skin cancer screening. ( maybe someone can cap the kelly parts/mentions, because it's only about 10-20 seconds, out of a 10 min. podcast) At 6min 45 sec, the interview with Ryan starts. The DJ's mention Kelly at about 8:15, and at about 8:54, Ryan says he's going to be doing a lot of ROCK oriented stuff with Kelly, and they've traded "SONGS" back and forth through e-mail.
I know it's only a tidbit,( hey, it's slow in the news dept on this cd) but, trading "songs" leads me to believe he sent her some songs, and she sent him some of her stuff too, so that makes me have more hope that some of her own stuff will make the cd.

COWRITE WITH BLU SANDERS ON HOLD FOR KELLY CLARKSON!
Current mood: thankful
Yippee!! What an honour to have an amazing singer like Kelly love our song! God willing it will come to pass![]()
Erinn Sherlock myspaceIn December she was granted a three-year artist visa so we can keep her with us for at least a while longer. :-) Just two weeks ago, a song co-written with Blu Sanders was placed on hold for Kelly Clarkson.

The song is called "Bulletproof" and can be listened to at Erinn Sherlock's myspace page or at Blu Sanders' myspace page.
Adding to the pileup, Kelly Clarkson is also hoping her fourth effort, which she's been working on in various locales, including Australia, will see a pre-Christmas bow.

"Pinnick wrote these songs during a busy time in his life so when he came back to them to record for XV he didn't even remember writing the new songs. He was busy with writing and recording his solo album, he spent time schmoozing at music conventions, went to California for a stint to help write songs with Mick Mars of Motley Crue for the new Kelly Clarkson album and worked with the people at Guitar Hero to get a King's X song included in the insanely popular video game"

6-3:In addition to working with Ryan "Alias"Tedder for her upcoming 4th album with RCA Records, pop vocalist Kelly Clarkson also roped in songwriter/producer Curtis Richardson of The Conglomerate for the yet to be titled project.
Richardson's resume includes crafting hits for the likes of Jennifer Lopez ("All I Have"), Rihanna("The Final Goodbye"), and Craig David("Officially Yours").

this is from the BMI site, but from February last year..Curtis Richardson
Has written for Jennifer Lopez and LL Cool J (No. 1 hit "All I Have"), Joss Stone, Rihanna, Sharissa. Coming up in '07, Curtis will be writing with Craig David, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Chaka Khan.
Kelly just posted another journal entry and said she'd just recorded 3 songs with Sam Watters and Loius Biancaniello. She sounds really excited about them. That team wrote "Anytime" that appeared on her Thankful album.5-23:

Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic with fresh taste of success
Would you write with Johns?
I'd love to write with him. I'm writing for a few people. Kelly Clarkson is one.
How's it sounding? More poppy?
I'm a sucker for solid, memorable melodies. I'm not interested in fad songs. Bleeding Love or Apologize could have come out 10 years from now or 10 years ago and they'd still work. I emailed Kelly the other day, ''I want whatever songs we do to stick around''. I'm lucky to be working on the project. I'm not trying to do anything specific other than make great songs that are a little different from what people would expect.

How is the project with Kelly Clarkson coming along?
Kelly's project is in the early stages. But what we've come up with so far is big and we love it.
OneRepublic frontman teams up with ClarksonTuesday, March 11 2008, 13:00 GMT
By Nick Levine, Music Editor
OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder has confirmed that he is working on new material with Kelly Clarkson.
Tedder, who co-wrote and produced Leona Lewis's number one hit 'Bleeding Love', told DS that Clarkson's new songs will feature "big choruses" and "heavy drum programming".
He also revealed that the songs are influenced by nineties electro-rockers Garbage, while one song, a mid-tempo rock ballad, features an experimental bridge inspired by Mozart.
Clarkson reportedly clashed with her record label over the musical direction of her last album, 2007's My December, after Sony BMG chief Clive Davis deemed it less commercial than her previous releases.
