So I found out today who will be playing at my hometown's bbq festival in October. Big Kenny will be the headliner, also Joey & Rory, Richie McDonald,
Chris Young who was the 2006 winner of Nashville Star, and David Neal. Ok I have no idea who the last three people are but whatever lol.

Drove to see Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum this weekend in Toronto. Holy Cow. Every single time I see him, he just full on amazes me. I'll start w/ Lady Antebellum - It was awesome to see them again because I had just seen them open for Kenny a month ago and it left me wanting more. They played for a solid hour which was satisfying since I think they only got 30 min (if that) w/Kenny. They did all their hits including "Need You Now". I love the chemistry that Charles and Hilary have together. They also threw in a cover of 'Boys of Summer' and 'Hurts so good'. They seemed to be on a high too because their CD was just certified Gold in Canada so they were given an award backstage. Can't wait to see them again. Anyways, our seats were 14th row which were pretty good but OBVIOUSLY I needed to be closer. Shortly after Keith started, the 4 girls that were on the end of our row had already moved up but as I watched there was a security guard sorta kiboshing any further people from going up there even tho there was acres of free space. Then she turns around to talk to someone and I see my moment to move up. As I'm making my short trip from 14th row to left side of catwalk, I see lights and commotion. And then BAM who do I run into but KEITH URBAN. LOL. He was taking one of his many trips into the crowd and I happened to come directly in his path. He kinda just stopped too because I was in his way so I reached out and tapped him on his bicept (it was sweaty - lol), he gave me a huge smile and then I stepped aside for him to go by. It was glorious. Anyways, I enjoyed the rest of the show beside the catwalk. Funny little moment from the show. At one point, Keith does this little bit where he comes out and puts on 'exercise gear' consisting of sweat bands and he signs tennis balls and hits them into the audience w/ a tennis racket. Anyways, a 'girl' comes out and joins him with her own pink version of the gear. Well all of a sudden this security guard from behind me goes barrelling through me (and the security guard that was beside me) and runs up on to the stage and makes it to the top of the ramp before he realizes that the girl up on stage wasn't some random fan who rushed the stage but it was Hilary from Lady A. I was laughing but also I couldn't stop thinking about what would have happened if he didn't realize who she was before he tackles her to the ground and pulls her off the stage. LOL. The whole show is such a blur - its the combination of just being that close to Keith and being mesmerized by his insane guitar playing abilities and all around talent. The guy is a genius. The crowd interaction is just incredible too. What artist willingly walks into the crowd on several occasions just to be closer to the audience and make them feel like there are no barriers between him and them? And at the end of the show he gave this really nice speech about how rough of a year it has been for some people and the fact that we used our hard earned money to come see him is truly an honor. People can say that in show biz but from Keith, you just KNOW he really means it. SO worth the trip.

Aww, I'm so glad you had fun. GREAT that Lady A had an hour-long set. I love seeing them play longer sets (it's what they deserve). Still kinda bummed
about my Keith show 'cause Sugarland only played 45 (ish) minutes 'cause of Jennifer's vocal issues.
Haha, so awesome that you ran into Keith! That's hilarious. Also, he so did NOT do the tennis ball thing at my show. What the heck? That sounds amazing. Hahaha. |

Ah great review...I'm so tempted to get last minute tix to see Keith this Thursday, even though I know I shouldn't! But Keith and Sugarland in one
place is becoming too much to resist...

Yeah the tennis ball thing was SO random but I thought it was kinda cool! KricketNP wrote:I think you should just give in!!! If it wasn't for
work I probably would have driven down to Albany &/or Buffalo myself this week to see one of the last two shows on this tour. I can't get enough of
him.
