Carrie deserved it, IMO, and I'm glad she won.. I would have been cool with Lee Ann or Miranda though, too. Can I just say how effing happy I am that Kenny Chesney didn't win anything? Thank God!!! All of his songs sound exactly the same, he never does anything new or interesting, and just because you play stadiums doesn't make you a shoe-in for EOTY. I am super happy for Carrie. She worked get ass off last year, toured like crazy, and really did a lot for country music. We need a woman out there representing for all of us. As much crap as people want to talk about her, I'm sure she's doing Tammy, Patsy, Loretta, Dolly, etc. proud. She's proving that women can be powerhouse touring acts, too. It's not all about the guys anymore. Major congrats to Sugarland! Sooooo proud of them. They were fantastic and Jennifer looked absolutely gorgeous. Very disappointed that the Flatts walked away with Group again. When the hell is Little Big Town gonna win it? They get ripped off in everything they do. They work so damn hard and sound flawless all the time. Favorite performance of the night: Lady A.

Is the country market that small that you already know more than half the performers before it is even mentioned? How can this award show be taken really seriously when it is a given that the same people will win, except they are in rotation from year to year. I just don't get the significance I guess. Of course Carrie would win a lot of female awards because she has no competition. A lot of the female singers are either average, old (with no hits), or if they are good they are in a group like Jennifer from sugarland. Her real competition is really the males, who wont be up against her in most awards. Taylor Swift is her commercial competition but Taylor is not a vocalist.

But I think Jennifer if solo, and with something like the Idol machinery/fanbase support, could give Carrie serious run for her money. I think Jennifer has crazy vocals, sings with a lot of emotion, and an awesome performer. I didn't use to watch a lot of country shows, so I wasn't familiar with Jennifer until I saw her on Reba's CMT Giants special. And she won me over that day. And there are so many country awards that I can't keep up. lol. Each time makes me think about the type of competition Kelly has to go up against to win one award in one category (or two), if she's lucky. But oh well, such is life. lol.
