also, if they release AG in two-ish weeks, the song will probably be a slow riser (as most ballads usually are), so i guess it would peak around late summer/early fall? sounds great to me!

other than SYTYCD, i hope she uses those promo spots in july to promote AG.

I rather have her perform IDNHU in the upcoming promo, and save AG for fall/winter promo. I'm sure come november-december, Ellen/Oprah/Conan/SYTYCD will
want her back to perform. Plus people would hear the new single, and definately go out and buy the album for Christmas presents. I just think it's wayyyy
to early to jump ship.

mybabykelly wrote: But the reality is that IDNHU won't be her "current single" for much longer, now that it's clearly on a downward spiral on radio and iTunes, so why waste the opportunity on a single that isn't moving? It would make sense to start promoting Already Gone now, since promo opportunities may not arise as easily in the coming months, since she's already done most of the shows. Not to mention we do have a fourth single to *hopefully* promote in the future. |

If you wait on the promo for AG, you run the risk of it pulling a IDNHU and underachieving.

lol does no one have faith in this album? I understand that IDNHU is underperforming, but I am certain that no matter when singles are released, this album is
going to sell like crazy. I understand that AG is the key to AIEW's success, but a great song is a great song, no matter when it is released. Take a look
at "Waking Up In Vegas" by Katy Perry. Third single Thinking Of You barely hit 29 on the Hot 100 and 21 on Pop 100, killing all of the momentum she
had coming off of Hot N Cold and IKAG. Waking Up In Vegas is undeniably a catchy/commercial/fun song and has gained back any momentum the album had lost . It
has so far peeked at #10 on the Hot 100 not because of how well her previous singles have charted or how far apart they were released, but because it is a good
song.
I understand that there is some logic behind releasing singles at a certain time to keep the album in the public eye, but a few weeks isn't going to kill the buzz behind AIEW. Christmas season and Grammy Awards are fast approaching, and that is when Kelly will shine. That said, I don't see this album losing any hype if they were to wait a while longer to release another single. This album has so many potential hits, the record label probably spent a bundle on producers for the album, and Kelly really supports it. I don't see the record label giving up on the album any time soon. Say the next two singles flop hardcore (which they wont, but if they did)... the label would just re-release the album with a few more tracks. Once a few more singles are released, people will start to realize that the cd as a whole is worth buying, no matter when those singles are released. Well that is my opinion and I am done with my rant. Hopefully this single will have a slow decline and have longevity.

I know it seems unlikely, but remember how hard MLWSWY started to fall, then all of a sudden it started regaining its bullet, and even regained a positive
bullet for a few days! That could deft. happen with IDNHU!

I think if IDNHU continues to lose spins in the coming week, and tomorows performance on sytycd doesn't seem to help in sales on itunes, it is time to move
on. Everyone was saying HU got released too early, and SUCK was interfering with HU's performance, which may have been the case. But, Suck was performing
much better than this one, so you really can't compare. I went back and looked at SUCK's stats in directors thread, and 2 weeks before HU was released,
it was already getting spins, and showed up @ #69 on the chart. At that time SUCK still had a small bullet, but, was sitting at #4-#5, and it stayed there
forever even with a neg. bullet. By the time HU's official release day came, it was #39 on the chart, and SUCK was still at #5, and 3,300 spins ahead of
the #10 song.( If you want to see what I'm talking about, check out around page 79 of MLWSWY thread)
So like I said, you can't compare the 2. If HU keeps losing, bring on AG, it don't think it'll be affected by HU at all. |

but I am certain that no matter when singles are released, this album is going to sell like crazy. The album's been out of the top 50 for 2 weeks now. It's unlikely that a song is going to make it "sell like crazy" when it's been decreasing every week since its release except for Mother's day and Easter. I just think RCA is just going to focus on the success of the singles now. Hopefully, AG does end up being a success so a fourth single is released. About the promo in July, yeah I knew booking dates for July and forgetting about June and March and letting IDHU perform based on Kelly's name was a huge mistake. It's a hot song but it still needed some exposure. Unfortunately, I don't think RCA is going to be rushing out any singles anytime soon, at least not this month, so it'll only make sense to try to squeeze out any digital purchase out of IDNHU which hasn't even gone gold yet. I definitely think Kelly will be performing that, and then later on (hopefully!) her management will book her for some new appearances to promote AG when it goes for adds. I think that'll be happening in August. |

How? I Do Not Hook Up is top 10 on Pop lol. It may be "dying" but technically, it's still being played like crazy compared to other songs out
there right now. Plus, for AG to be "added" this month, it'd mean the song would have to be added to radio within the next 3 weeks, and I REALLY
don't see that happening. August is my guess. Mid August, even.

IDNHU was sent for adds when MLWSWY was still top 10, maybe even top 5, not sure.
i just really think they will announce an adds date in a couple weeks, and hopefully it will go for adds towards the end of this month. i don't want too much momentum to be lost. |

KellyOwnsMyWorld wrote:Even if she does perform IDNHU during her promo appearances, she'll still probably end up performing Already Gone. Correct me if I'm wrong, but The View and Good Morning America will, on occassion, have two performances for their appearances. In that case, it would make perfect sense to promote both singles. Right? |

No, The View never has 2 performances. GMA might though.

She's doing the GMA Concert Series, so yes...she'll probably get to sing both Hook and AG. The View has been having certain guest sing 2 songs
lately, so hopefully Kelly is one of those.
I see the point of RCA wanting to wring the last bit of life out of Hook in digital sales by having her sing that during her upcoming appearances, but I'm selfish. I'm imagining her singing AG and sparking more interest in her cd. |

it sounds better to me that she'll perform IDNHU in July appearances. Maybe, people will see the song and decide to request it on radio.
personally, i can't wait to see what So You Think will do for the digital sales. also, AG will probably be one of those singles like Lovegame and Poker face that are high on itunes selling very well before even being released to radio. i think that AG will be a huge seller. def. 2x Platinum and after the Grammys... can't wait. |

And, I don't think it's time to release Already Gone. TOO FAST! This one is not a summer song. We Belong Together, anyone? I think it's not really necessary to have an "upbeat single" for summer. As long as it is a "hot" track and it click to the general public (w/c for some reason IDNHU isn't "experiencing"), then it will be a summer hit. If you wait on the promo for AG, you run the risk of it pulling a IDNHU and underachieving. Actually, IDNHU is already in the process of "underachieving" if we look at the bigger picture. Yes, it's a Top 10 hit on POP radio, but it's position on Digital sales has been underwhelming lately for a Top 10 Pop Radio song. I think it's going to reach Gold status though after all things are said and done. Call me impatient or whatever but I think releasing AG as early as next month won't hurt IDNHU at all. It's already done.... I think. If it isn't, then much better. |

i think that RCA know what their doing and they have a plan.
renzo, IDNHU will have done much better than Gold when everything is said and done. Its sales already stand at 476,000 copies. and with the So You Think performance, it's obvious that sales won't decrease next week. Which means that the single will cross the Gold mark next week. I think that IF the promo in July is NOT scheduled for IDNHU, it will sell AT LEAST 650,000 copies. if it is, then it can sell 750,000. but i don't expect it to sell anywhere near 100,000 copies a week. but it can go on selling 30,000-40,000 copies for several weeks and finally reach 750,000 |
