I think vocals should be the thing we discuss, it's a Kelly Clarkson forum and Kelly Clarkson is a singer.
You wouldn't discuss the singing of a model. Like you wouldn't, yet people insist on doing it, discuss the looks/weight of a singer. |

DLMSY did disappoint me too but hopefully it will get better with time.
I loved Whya did anyone else think they slowed it down just a bit. I loved the intro too. IICHY loved the sweet dreams reference. If- Kelly you better keep this in your show the only thing I will forgive you switching it for is an MJ song. Cry- such an improvement from the British show. It was flawless and beautiful AG- Like the arrangement and it will get better when she is in full form Walking After Midnight- was perfection, love her bluesy side! Never Again- I can never hate this song, loved the new arrangement IDNHU- its getting better for me especially with the new intro love it! MI- I want the rock version back on MD tour. I LOVED that. I'm liking that Kelly and the band are working to make the show a different experience. Liking the addition of a DJ. |

The only song I have a problem with her singing live is AIEW. It doesnt give off the same feel as the album version and she doesn't sound up to far singing
it live, so far, from what I've heard. Of course it still rocks but just not what I expected.

I see nothing wrong with discussing how her voice sounded. It isn't like she is a terrible singer, she just tends to get raspy and hoarse occasionally, and
truly, the times are pretty far and few between even when she has a lot of events close together. In the 3 or so years I've been a follower, she has had 3
times I can think of when her voice was tired, and each time, just a few days later she had seemed to have fully recovered. She certainly doesn't shy away
from doing songs that are demanding, nor does she shy away from performing when her voice is tired, she just adjusts the song. She seems to know when her voice
is so tired she has to cancel, and she's only had to do that once in the last 2 years.
On the songs themselves, she has to decide if she should keep "Cry" in the set list. It isn't nearly as striking when she has to take the high notes out. Of course, I wouldn't mind if she inserted the almost as demanding "Sober". It would be a shame if that beauty is lost to time. I doubt she'll do 2 of the songs I really like, or maybe she will on the fall tour - Save You and Long Shot. They both show her voice off in different ways. And if she can duplicate the NOVA version of AG, that is one of my definitions of KC heaven. |

I love how she sounded in AG. It fits the sentiments of the song so well. The same thing with her Sober performance in Live Lounge in Ausralia. I like how she
seemed to struggle into the song. IMO, that's how those songs are supposed to be sung because when you've just gone through a harrowing break-up,
you'd barely have a voice left in your body. Corny, but that's how I see it.

I haven't listened to the whole concert yet, but from what i heard i realllly like it!!! IWY has never been my "favorite" song but hearing it
live has deft. made me like it a lottttt more!!! It has deft. grown on me! I like what she did with AG and how she was able to maneuver around some of the high
notes and still sound great (and im not going to feel bad for saying this but it is easy to see that her voice was tired and strained from performing (and
talking) lol) And in no way is that criticizing her, i am simply making an observation, that is the whole point of a message board to talk about what ever the
message board is made for, and in our case it is Kelly Clarkson, and yes that means we can talk about her vocals, seeing as she is a singer lol Obvs. some
people can go too far, but i don't think anyone has done this yet. It is ok to say that Kelly wasn't in tip top shape, she is human lol And i have even
more respect for her when she does a show and sounds tired etc. because that's how dedicated she is! Other artists would just lip sync. I'm not saying
this to any one in particular but some people are just too sensitive! We are allowed to talk about our opinions about her voice and **gasp** even her weight!
As long as we aren't mean about it because this is obviously a message board because we all love kelly clarkson soo there is no reason to be mean. Ok
I'm done with my rant for now lol, on that note I think she sang fantastic, even though not every song was perfect. And she also looked great!

i LOVE how kelly changed up Breakaway!! e.g. when she sings "win-dow" and other notes that fall in the same spot in similar phrases that follow. it was a pleasant surprise and i always look forward to her singing it when i re-listen to it! it makes me melt cuz it's such an awesome change up from the same old way that she sings Breakaway, a song that i used to be bored of. as for the other songs, i had some favourites and a very few not so favourites because i was a little disappointed in them, but after having listened to the
whole concert at least 3 times over, i love how kelly sings every song!! i'm soooo excited for her shows this summer and in the fall and oh ps, a lot of this thread with ppl saying that they wish kelly would've sang certain songs that she left out reminds me a LOT of her SummerBash
interview with showbiz shelly and it makes me laugh out loud, haha. it's funny, but completely understandable cuz everyone has favourites |

Since many of you have not been members of this board through a good portion of Kelly's touring and promotion a little history is probably in order
regarding discussions of Kelly's voice.
First off there is nothing wrong with stating that "Kelly sounded tired" or "She didn't sound up to par at a particular show", it's natural and is going to happen. It doesn't necessarily mean she needs time off or she's sick or she's tired or anything at all. It's her voice. It's raw and it's beautiful and it's different all the time. But as we have learned through her first Mini-tour, Independent Tour, Breakaway Tour, Hazel Eyes Tour, Addicted Tour, the discussion never stops at simply stating "wow she sounds tired" or "I didn't care for her voice on this or that song". It turns into an analysis of Kelly's vocal health, including vocal nodes, irreversible damage and general proclamation of the end of a singing career. As we entered the My December era a Management decision was made to eliminate the never ending discussion of Kelly's vocal health since there had already been at least 1000 discussions related to it. With that said...noone has said anything out of line regarding Kelly's voice here, however, as history has taught us the discussion usually starts this way and by mid-tour, an ongoing heated debate ensues regarding whether Kelly should stop singing rock, tour less, take a break, have a vocal transplant and so on and so on and so on. So although there is nothing wrong with anything that has been said in this thread, if a line is crossed at any point during this tour a MODERATOR will address it in the thread. They will decide if something is or isn't okay to continue to discuss. So unless you see something posted by an Admin there is no reason to correct people who have a differing opinion one way or another about how Kelly's voice sounds. It's simply their opinion. Move on. We're sorry if this doesn't satisfy everyones opinon of how things should work here but as we've mentioned many times this is a FAN forum. There are lines that we aren't going to cross here and we'd appreciate everyone respecting that and Kelly and giving her the support she deserves. That is what this board is here for and Kelly really does have great fans and this board represents the best of them. You all show you care for Kelly everyday here and she knows it. So it's just a matter of coloring within the lines which everyone seems to be doing so Color Away! I think this is techinically the first thread of the summer tour It's going to have great moments and some not so great moments. Enjoy the great ones and let the other stuff go. Thanks. |

ok i'm only on page 27 of catching up, downloaded the audio and only into AIEW but i have to say a HUGE thanks to Erin and Ally for all their tweeting,
recording, reporting, etc. I'll have to catch up on the rest of this show and tonight's show tomorrow but my goodness I'm about to buy myself a
plane ticket and check out stubhub for a ticket to the next show. WOW. Looks like Jason wasn't kidding when he said this tour is going to be awesome.
