Because I would have blown my radiator after stoopid (that's not a misspelling in this case) Idol voters knocked off the best make R&B singer this show has ever seen, and who a few weeks ago knocked off the seriously talented Skylar Laine.Instead, the show is left with a very poor man's excuse for Ray LaMontagne/Pete Yorn, and a teenager with a plastic voice. When will Nigel & Co. go the America's Got Talent route and limit the number of votes per voter?Obviously, they thought that if the panel of third-rate Stooges told the voting audience enough times that Joshua was great, they'd do their duty, Pavlovian style. Unfortunately, Idol voters don't have the brains of dogs.Maybe they should change the name of the show to "White Male American Idol."Oy. Please let Duets do a better job.

Her voting block either got a lot bigger as the other contestants were eliminated or they just started voting like crazy after she was saved. Even though Joshua annoys me to no end, I think he deserved the finale spot over Jessica. I'm a big Phillip fan, but it might be best if he doesn't win in some ways - he might have more creative control over his career if he's not labeled an American Idol winner. I'm thinking back to Lee DeWyze's first post-Idol album, and it was pretty much crap - his pre-Idol stuff is so much better. I really hope that however it works out for Phillip, they let him do his thing and don't try to send him the pop route. I know a lot of DMB fans will buy his music as long as they don't make him sell out and go the poppy route (like they did to Lee). Anyway, it should be an interesting finale...

I wouldn't put it past Nigel and Co. to create Jessica's "save" to give the show drama: "She was saved from elimination at 7th place only to come back and win it all!" Nah...I'm not a conspiracy theorist

And if I ever find out that they DID rig it, I'll be so mad - they could've used the save on Skylar.

She should've been top 3, top 4 easy (without the save). I was even shocked that she was voted off that night. I don't think we're questioning the judges' use of the save. The conspiracy theory is that the results that night weren't the actual results, and they (the producers *cough*Nigel*cough*) purposely put Jessica at the bottom of the totem pole because they knew the judges would use the save on her - she's their 'golden girl' this season and they wanted to create a dramatic story for her since she's got nothing else to lean on. I mean she's a normal 16-year-old with a voice. There's not much about her that's unique.

Several exposes of the show have been written, and at least one of them discusses Fremantle Media's "Executive In Charge of Production", a British woman named Wyleen May, who I've read is one of the most arrogant, imperious, boorish people to have ever worked in television. You think Simon Fuller or the private equity firm that bought Idol's parent company, CKX, a few years back, care if they get caught rigging? TV is not dominated by prime time game shows like it was back in the late 1950's. The show has made billions of dollars. I doubt anyone would go to jail, just pay several million dollars in fines. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if Jessica was put in the B3 and they used the save on her to pump her up. Don't forget, unless Ryan Seacrest actually says something like, "I'm looking for the people with the lowest number of votes," the "bottom three" means nothing.
