We'd like to take this opportunity to explain how the Express Works and provide some directions on posting. Newbies AND active members should all take the time to review this announcement.
The following is a list of directions and instructions to help you get around the board easier:
The
main
forum is where 99% of the action occurs, and where we expect to see
new members posting. Everything about Kelly is posted there, as it drifts off the main page the moderators move it to the appropriate other Kelly forum, so it
will be saved. The default board setting allows 20 threads per page. We ask that before you start a thread on the main board that you check back a few pages
and make sure the discussion hasn't been posted already. There is a search feature at the top of the board that will help you find old threads as well. Use keywords to try and pinpoint a discussion you are looking
for. If you do start a thread that is already being discussed somewhere, you will see it locked with a link to where the discussion is taking
place.
Become an ACTIVE BOARD member before posting in our other forums not related to Kelly. These forums are here simply for LONG TIME ACTIVE board members to discuss other topics.
Off Topic is for all discussions not related to Kelly or American Idol, we have an American Idol forum for discussions of past, present and future Idol contestants and the show in general. *Warning, we do not protect other Idol contestants, active members, are welcomed to post their opinions about another contestant good or bad. Sometimes people get upset about a contestant they like that is not popular with others, if this is the case we recommend simply not reading the discussion. There's enough goodness on Kelly's Main board that there is no reason to read stuff that you don't care for. Off Topic is for discussion of everything else. Games are posted on Off Topic as well but threads that are started, that do nothing more then raise post counts will be closed.
At the top of the main page is the Kelly Mentions thread. There are 2 important things to remember here:
1 - this is for tidbits and mentions about Kelly in the press, radio, tv, school cafeteria, dentist office, shopping mall, restaurant, party etc. For example, "They were playing SUBG at the dentist today", that would be a mention, because of our limited number of threads per page on the main board, we would not want a new thread started for that, etc. However, if you hear something about Kelly and know that people are going to want to discuss it then a new thread would be warranted. If you're not sure, put it in the mentions thread and, if warranted, one of the moderators will start a thread.
2 - No discussion will take place in the mentions thread because it is used for documentation purposes and tends to fill up quickly (since Kelly is so awesome). If you want to discuss something from the mentions thread use the Random Questions and Discussion thread...speaking of which...
Have a random question about Kelly? Looking for a song, lyrics, article, picture, locket of her hair? USE THE RANDOM QUESTION THREAD. DO NOT start a new thread. If you do it will most likely be locked, and you will have to repost the question in the question/discussion thread anyway.
If you like to make Kelly Art the Creative Corner is the forum for
you. We have a lot of talented members over there that make fabulous Kelly
Blends and banners which are often used on our various forums.
Kelly Media: if you are
looking for Kelly audio or video check out the KCE Media Server (link is at the top of every page). If you can't find it there, then you can ask in the Random
Question/Discussion Thread. If you don't check the server first, we can assure you the first response will be: check the KCE Media Server. Same thing if
you are looking for a picture of Kelly; check out the Kelly Picture forum first and if you can't find it use the Question/Discussion thread.
Commercially available media from any Artist is NOT to be shared on the board. Leaks of Singles and CD's will also be removed from the board. DO NOT attempt to post them and DO NOT request them on the board. If you feel you must request it somehow, PM the person.
Out of respect for Kelly and those close to her, ANY
PRIVATE INFORMATION WILL BE REMOVED. This also extends to pictures that may be posted elsewhere
by friends of Kelly that appear on their personal webspaces. Things that appear on their professional sites are fine. PM an Admin if you think anything
is questionable.
Polls are not the way to establish yourself as a member of the
board. They are generally disliked. Don't start a poll because you are bored and want to poll the board on
their favorite Kelly shoes. Polls can provide relevant information and can be a good way of sampling reaction to a song or performance when the topic is
CURRENT. Starting a poll on favorite Lyrics from Breakaway or Thankful etc is old and pointless and the topic will be moved to the Request and Poll forum or
it will just be closed. If you have started a Poll on the Main Forum DO NOT start a second poll while the first one lives on the first page or it will be
closed or moved to the Request and Poll Forum. Use common sense when deciding on staring a Poll if there are already 2 or 3 Polls on the first and second
pages, there is no need for another one at the same time.
Tour Discussions: There are forums set up for each tour. One General thread will be used on the main forum for tour planning and ticket sales
discussion etc. all others will be moved to the Tour Forum. When the tour
starts, a thread for the concert will be pinned on the top of the main forum for discussion of the show. The thread is for people getting a call to report on
the show and for people to give updates when they return from a show. If you are reporting this information, POST IN
RED so that people just scanning through don't have to read all 78
pages (or whatever it is).
You will find Official Threads (i.e. Kelly is on the Today Show) and General Discussion threads
(i.e. Grammy Nominations, Upcoming CD News) for performances and big happenings and depending on the event you may also find corresponding Picture, Press and
Media threads pertaining to the event. Don't start a new thread to discuss a peformance when there is already a multipage performance
thread on the main forum. And Please don't post 15 times in
a performance thread asking if there is going to be media available. The answer is YES and it will be available when people have time to get it posted.
Please do NOT bump threads just for the sake of bumping. If people are interested,
they will reply.
If the thread is not about Kelly or a discussion primarily related to Kelly it will be moved to Off Topic. If you are unsure why you had a thread moved, PM (private message) an Admin. Don't start a thread asking why it was moved, closed, deleted etc.
We ask
that the members respect each other on the board. We do not allow profanity or name calling of members. Your opinion is welcomed, however, understand that if you are in the minority, you will hear disagreement from
other members. This does not mean people are attacking you. It means they are disagreeing with your opinion. Do not take disagreement as a personal
attack. If you feel that someone is personally harassing you, send a PM to one of the Admins with a link to the discussion and they will deal with
it.
Do not bring over posts from other forums that will
cause turmoil on the board. If
you have issues with what people say elsewhere, please deal with it there and not on this board.
