THE SKINNY: In an era where pop artists like Britney Spears and Ashley Simpson skate by with only a modicum of talent and even their most disastrous moments are greeted with open tabloid arms, iF MAGAZINE would like to give kudos to singer Kelly Clarkson for giving back to her fans even though she didn't have to.
On December 21, Clarkson returns to the Bay Area for a free concert at San Jose's HP Pavilion for those who saw her perform in September.
Why? Well, when Clarkson performed at UC Berkeley's Greek Theater, she was just diagnosed with bronchitis and although no one complained about her performance and thought it went great, she felt she could do better and wants another chance to give her fans 250%.
"I love my fans and they deserve the best that I can give. I promised them I'd come back when I was healthy and I am really looking forward to making this up to them," the singer says.
Those who were at the Berkeley Greek Theatre concert on September 4 will be contacted through Ticketmaster and offered the opportunity to attend the new concert date compliments of Kelly Clarkson. Tickets to purchase for the new show will also be made available to additional fans Sunday, November 13 at 10:00 a.m. through Ticketmaster.com.
After her show at the Berkeley Greek Theatre, Kelly was forced to postpone five Hazel Eyes Tour stops: Santa Barbara, CA; Irvine, CA; Reno, NV; Las Vegas, NV; and Spokane, WA. As promised, Kelly Clarkson will return to each of those cities (with the exception of Santa Barbara) beginning December 10 in Las Vegas. Tickets purchased for the postponed concert dates will be honored for the rescheduled dates. The Santa Barbara date will be moved to next summer since it is outdoors.
Generally when we hear this kind of news, it sounds like a shameless publicity stunt, but coming from Clarkson, somehow it rings true. Besides, giving away a free concert is costing someone money, and you sure as hell know it ain't Ticketmaster, so hats off to Clarkson and her deep pockets for making her loyal fans #1 on her list (as they make her #1 on the record charts).

I know we have seen most of this before, but I thought that everyone would like to see what people thought of this and I thought it deserved it's on thread!
